In a medium bowl, combine the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies and melted butter.
Press the mixture firmly into a 9-inch pie pan and bake for 10 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
Add the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until just combined.
Fold in half of the crushed cookies gently.
Pour the filling into the baked crust and smooth the top.
Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
Allow the pie to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours until fully set.
Top with whipped cream and additional crushed cookies before serving.
