Ingredients
  

  • 1 box of vanilla cake mix
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup of fresh strawberries chopped
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips
  • 1 cup of strawberry syrup
  • 1 cup of whipped cream or whipped topping
  • Extra strawberries for garnish optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the cake mix according to package instructions using water, vegetable oil, and eggs.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
  6. Once cooled, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake.
  7. Pour the strawberry syrup over the poked cake, allowing it to soak in.
  8. Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top.
  9. Spread whipped cream or topping over the entire cake after the syrup has soaked in.
  10. Garnish with extra strawberries on top before serving, if desired.
